The hiring manager may elect to fill this position at the higher Wind Technician II Level dependent upon a candidate's skills and experience. We are looking for a Traveling Wind Technician I to maintain all aspects of our customers turbines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc.). The physical work location is at the Mt Pleasant Deriva Wind: 1601 N Mission St, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858. Responsibilities: •Always maintain a high level of safety awareness •Climb heights 300 ft. and greater several times daily •Diagnose and resolve faults on turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems •Perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of an issue and perform corrective actions or open a service case with equipment manufacturer •Perform energy isolation in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures •Perform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Hazardous Energy Controls Procedures •Perform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbines •Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and evaluation •Maintaining all aspects (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) of turbines in a safe, high quality, and efficient manner •Maintain EH&S Documentation and complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool and PPE inventory, and additional paperwork as necessary) within Maximo Qualifications Wind Technician - Level I: •High School/GED •In addition to the High School/GED requirement, the ability to complete Level I job performance measures and training Deriva Energy renewables academy within 1 year Wind Technician - Level II: •High School/GED •External Candidates - In addition to the High School/GED requirement, (3+) years of related work experience. Must pass required Turbine Technician I and Electrical Operator I JPMs within the probationary period. •Internal Candidates - In addition to the High School/GED requirement, (1+) year of technical experience with Deriva Energy as a Wind Technician.
