JOURNEYMAN WELDER | AISC METAL FABRICATOR EDCO Metal Fabricators is seeking an Advanced Structural Welder that has 5+ years of professional experience with MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques. Qualifications. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. · Proficient with GTAW, GMAW and FCAW welding (steel, aluminum, stainless). Materials welded may include steel, stainless, aluminum or various alloys and the methods may include gas welding, shielded metal arc, gas-tungsten arc, gas-metal arc or submerged arc. Wire feed welding · Welding competency in all positions. · Ability to read and interpret technical engineering assembly and fabrication drawings. · Understands weld symbols and prepares joints in accordance with code. · Familiar with structural steel shop fabrication tools and machinery, including material handling equipment such as overhead and jib cranes and forklifts, is required. · Understand of methods to reduce weld metal volume, arc time per weldment, rework and scrap, work effort, motion/delay time and other areas of improvement in welding practices. · Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to document and maintain accurate records. Welder Qualification Test. Must be able to pass our flux core weld test in the vertical position prior to hire Education/Experience Requirements. · Completion of technical training in welding; or related experience and/or training; and · 5 or more years of recent professional TIG/MIG welding experience required; and · 5 or more years of metal fabrication experience. · WABO certification a plus Job Description. · Layouts, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble structural steel, machinery, frames, tanks and building parts. · Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, apply knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques. · Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. · Creates jigs as required, bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. · Conducts in-process quality checks on own work and others work throughout production process · Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws. Signs all fits and welds as directed. · Demonstrates continuous process improvement and follows current manufacturing practices. · Uses in-process quality checking procedure consistently; supports and utilizes EDCO’s Quality Management System. · Welds according to welding standards such as D1.1, D1.5, D1.6 or other industry standards as applicable. Physical Demands. Ability to lift 50 pounds, work in an industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection and other appropriate protective clothing. Ability to bend, stoop, lift, reach, sit, stand, and walk for the entire duration of shift. Position Details. · Work Location and Schedule. Work is performed on-site. · Schedule. Welder

Job Title Assist in the timely production of all welded parts and ensure welds being completed are within acceptable quality standards. Essential Functions: • Perform MIG, hand and robotic welding operations to produce product at the required production and quality level as instructed. • Perform inspection on product utilizing total quality concepts. • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as needed. • Accurately report daily activities on work orders and other media as required. • Conduct required quality checks using basic measurement equipment. • Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards. • Exercise safe working habits while operating machines, including proper use of personal protective equipment. • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of safety culture, participating in safety training sessions, and promptly reporting any safety concerns. • Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Training • High School Diploma/GED required. • Prior welding experience, required. Minimum Qualifications • Ability to pass welding certification test. • Must pass drug and alcohol screen and remain drug free throughout the term of employment. • Must follow all safety practices and policies. • Able to read and understand blueprints and geometric tolerances. • Must be able to physically lift 65 lbs. Physical Demands • Constant standing, walking, reaching, balancing, cervical spine motion, lower extremities, and simple grasp. • Frequent forward bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing. • Lifting and carrying up to 40lbs. Environmental Conditions • Non-temperature controlled manufacturing facility. • Must wear eye, ear, and foot protection.
