Our welders are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include: • Producing welded assemblies from fabricated components per custom or stock specifications • Welding in a variety of metals using a combination of MIG, TIG and ARC welding techniques • Positioning and aligning fits and welds using common weld shop tooling (jigs, welding equipment and hand tools) • Resolving problems using established procedures and common sense • Creating solutions, procedures and policies while working with various departments • Understanding of assigned work order/stag requirement and goals If you have at least 1 years’ experience as a welder, possess a High School Diploma or GED and successfully completed certification to minimum of 2 WPS, we want to talk to you! See More Details >>SUMMARY The Welder/Iron position is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques, in flat and vertical positions. It is also responsible for processing Iron jobs with a hydraulic cutter/punch, multiple types of saws, and supporting the Paint department as needed. Position Responsibilities: • Interpret engineering drawings to determine the appropriate welding process. • Visually inspects welds to specifications. • Use PPE and safe practices as required. • Maintain a clean and organized work area. • Accurate and timely entry of hours worked on jobs assigned. • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • Maintain accurate inventory on raw materials; notify lead when time to order. • Operate hydraulic cutter, punch, and press. • Operate cold saw and bandsaw. • Support the Paint department as needed. • Other duties as assigned. Key Qualifications: • Commitment to company values. • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the welding field. • Proficient with Mig welding equipment. • Ability to identify materials and select appropriate filler metal. • Proficient in the use of power and hand tools, and fixtures. • Ability to read blueprints and understand weld symbols. • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math, including understanding fractions. • Basic computer skills. • Problem solving skills. • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. • Ability to be fit tested for a respirator. • Requires a high school diploma or it's equivalent. • Requires 2-5 years of experience in welding and/or related A.A.S. degree. Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works indoors and on the factory floor. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office and can be loud on the factory floor. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
