Located in Port Orchard, WA Salary: $26-$30 per hour An established marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking qualified individuals experienced in marine welding. Job Description: Candidate must be able to: • Work in confined spaces, and climb vertical/inclined ladders. • Candidate must be able to join metal components together through the process of welding or brazing in both shop and shipboard environments, • Lay out work to be accomplished, • Select materials required to accomplish removals / installations / repairs / alterations, • Cut / burn / grind surfaces (as directed). Job Requirements/skill sets: • 5+ years' experience as a Marine Welder in the construction or repair of ships. Credit given for U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard Welding experience. • The individual must also be able to read, interpret, and follow blue prints, drawings, and technical manuals. • The candidate must have experience and successfully demonstrate the skills and ability to certify to Weld Procedures for at least two metals (OSS, HY, SS, AL, or CuNi). • The candidate must have experience in at least two welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, or GTAW). • The candidate must have prior NAVSEA, ABS, or AWS certification as a welder. • Some travel is possible. Education Requirements: • High School Diploma required. • Military technical school(s) desirable. • NAVSEA, ABS, or AWS certification as a welder. Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: • U.S. citizenship required. • Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
