Qualifications You Possess Minimum Qualifications: • Five years of journey-level welding experience. • Proficiency in all-position welding using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum as appropriate • Ability to obtain (within 6 months of hiring) and maintain American Welding Society Welding Inspector certification. • Washington State Professional Technical Vocational Certificate or ability to become vocationally certified, which requires at least two years of applicable industry experience within the last five years. • Degree/Certificate or completion of a recognized apprenticeship related to welding. • Experience with Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience successfully instructing adult learners such as industry workers or students. • Training and related experience with A.W.S. and A.S.M.E. welding code interpretation. • A.W.S. certified welding educator (CWE). • Current A. W. S. Welding Inspector certification. • Experience administering welder certifications. • Experience with budget and inventory tracking. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues and students of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, physical abilities, and levels of preparedness.
