Aluminum Welder/Fabricator

Aluminum Welder/Fabricator As Welder/Fabricator you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling the structure and components of the boat. You excel at combining meticulous craftsmanship with precision and quality, while strictly adhering to company safety standards. JOB TASKS • Read blueprints, drawings and weld schedule • Take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures • Utilize press brake machine to perform bend operations, inspecting finished product with measuring tools to ensure specifications are met • Utilize shear machine and bandsaw to cut materials to specifications • Remove scrap materials after using machinery and dispose properly • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements/procedures • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components using calipers, micrometers, tape measure, bevel square, rulers and clamp pieces • Weld components using MIG, TIG, Stick welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) • Clean smoke and welds with wire brush and rag • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws • Assist in pick, move, and setup of vessels using lifting and towing equipment • Follow company safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment Qualifications • Previous experience in aluminum welding, fabrication and fitting • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, GMAW, etc.) • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) • Operate brake press, shear, ironworkers, etc. • Professional Certification AWS, CWB, USCG is a plus • Ability to pass a welding skill test • Experience in marine industry/boat building preferred • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements • Must possess the ability to work in any condition like bending, twisting, squatting, crawling, and standing to execute normal job duties • Requires repetitive movement • Work from heights and in tights spaces • Lift/Pull/Push up to 30 lbs on a frequent basic Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, which can subject workers to loud levels of noise, fumes, debris, tripping hazards and sharp metal edges. Personal protective equipment will be provided, but you are responsible for ensuring that the equipment is properly used and for being aware of your surroundings.
