We are looking for hardworking professionals who enjoy meeting challenges and surpassing customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a background in welding to complete jobs for customers on time and on budget. This position will plan, lay-out, weld, install, evaluate, and repair all types of steel structures / piping in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards. Job Duties: • Test prior to hire – 2” double XH 6G pipe. • Supply your own tools. • GMAW Section IX welding, (B31.1/3/4/8) roll and position • Pulse Arc (75/25 and/or 85/15 gas mix) • Fit up ability on pipe 2” to 20”. • 100% RT with MT • Perform welding on new construction & maintenance - repairs on industrial projects. • Supervise and train welder helpers. • Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications, and plan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of structures in accordance with those plans and specifications. • Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures that arise or that may occur. Take corrective actions as needed. • Carefully choose filler metals and construction material to complete assignments. • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards. • Be motivated and work productively and safely. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Requirements: • Prior welding experience in the construction, mining or related industry or prefer a two-year vocational-technical degree. • Must have working knowledge of various welding codes and specifications. • Must be familiar with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques. • Welding processes most used are SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW. • Other processes utilized are Oxy-Fuel Welding and Cutting. • The ability to work in conditions common to a construction site including, but not limited to, rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, sun, cold, and noise. • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays. • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift. • Ability to lift fifty pounds. • Climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. • Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on a regular basis. • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights) • If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to DMV background records search. Skills/Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years of welding principles experience. • OSHA 10 certification preferred. • Must have at least one certification in GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW welding techniques. • Strong Aptitude in using other instruments like micrometers and calipers. CTE WELDING & FABRICATION AT MOSES LAKE HIGH SCHOOL Salary & Benefits POSITION OVERVIEW: The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, industry-aligned instruction that prepares students for college, careers, and lifelong learning in fields such as agriculture, manufacturing, metals, construction, and related technical disciplines. This role combines hands-on, project-based learning with academic rigor, fostering the development of both technical skills and core competencies. The CTE Teacher will support student engagement through leadership organizations such as SkillsUSA or FFA, maintain strong partnerships with industry and community stakeholders, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment with district goals and state standards. A successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to equity, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement in a dynamic, student-centered learning environment. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be CTE certified or eligible for CTE certification and obtain credentials within 2 years in areas such as Metals, Construction, or Electrical. • Obtain V-Code endorsements in: • * V480500 – Precision Metal Worker or V210100 – Technology Education • V010201 – Ag Mechanics or V010000 – CTE Ag Education • CTE coaching and mentoring experience required. • Knowledge of FFA and/or SkillsUSA or equivalent student extracurricular programs. • Must possess current First Aid and CPR certification. • Ability and willingness to implement Core Plus Curriculum. • ELL experience preferred.
