Welder / Equipment Operator - Dragon & Burn Table

Oregon Steel Fabrication is a locally owned and operated based in Eugene, OR. We specialize in Steel Fabrication and Erection, as well as Pre-Engineered Metal Building Systems. As an AISC-certified leader, we're committed to upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency in everything we do. We are currently looking for a skilled Equipment Operator, ideally with certified welding experience and a strong understanding of quality control processes, to join our growing team. This position focuses primarily on our CNC Dragon machine and burn table with precision and safety. We prefer candidate with welding experience, as there may be opportunities to assist with welding and fabrication during slower production periods. However, the majority of the role will involve operating and maintaining fabrication equipment. Basic computer skills are required to use CNC software and manage digital work files. Key Responsibilities: • Operate CNC Dragon machine and burn table efficiently and safely • Use computer interface to run machine programs and manage work orders • Load and unload materials for cutting and fabrication • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints and production work orders • Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures Preferred Qualifications: • Experience operating a CNC Dragon machine and burn tables. • Certified Welder (preferred) • Familiarity with fab tools and equipment • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., working with CNC interfaces, file management.) • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • Team player with a dependable, punctual work ethic Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent. • 1+ year of experience in a fabrication or welding environment preferred. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment. • Willingness to learn and grow within the company.
