Job Description Cromwell Solar’s Installers work within a small team to install commercial and residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. They provide support to and follow the directions of the Crew Leader to safely, professionally and quickly install all aspects of the PV system (panels, rack, wiring, inverters, etc). This is a position with an eye towards professional development. We want to build careers here at Cromwell. Solar installation training is provided and multiple paths for advancement within our firm are available including: installation crew leader, solar CAD designer, certified electrician, solar sales, energy auditor/retrofitter, indoor air quality consulting, and more. As the public face of Cromwell Solar, a firm priding itself on our technical abilities, our Installers are expected to be professional and to obtain and be able to convey their expertise in solar energy systems. Job Description The Project Coordinator position is a fast paced office job (no field work, no travel) requiring extremely good communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. You will routinely be working on dozens of solar/electrical projects in various states of completion simultaneously, all with very tight timelines for completion and with clients needing to be constantly kept informed of the progress on their project. As a communicator with our clients for Cromwell Environmental, a firm priding itself on our technical abilities, our project coordinators are expected to be extremely professional and to (AFTER training) possess and convey expertise in solar, electrical, and construction issues occurring in buildings. Responsibilities • Answering and routing client calls and emails re: ongoing projects and Operations and Maintenance • Providing clients with weekly updates regarding the status of their projects • Researching utility and “Authority Having Jurisdiction” (AHJ) requirements for the work to be performed • Processing solar interconnection applications and associated documents for various utilities • Processing permit applications and associated documents for various AHJs • Processing & maintaining business and contractor license applications and documents for various AHJs • Acquiring bonds for some licenses and projects • Working with installations manager/scheduling team to coordinate installation schedule • Connecting with subcontractors to coordinate their work • Communicating scheduling of installations/miscellaneous work with clients • Coordinating AHJ and utility inspections to close out permits and ensuring we receive permission to operate. • Submitting project documentation to clients' financing companies • Submitting warranty registrations and claims for panels and inverters which require registration to activate their warranty • Ensuring Client Information and all required documentation has been obtained and filed • Assisting with various administrative tasks as needed (Applying for Top Solar Contractors, signing up for National Solar Tour, REAP post-installation documents, gathering NABCEP documents, etc..) • General Customer Service and Data Entry and filing Additional duties required as needed Requirements Previous office experience Very good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel Four-year college degree preferred Electrical, Solar, or Construction background or experience helpful Knowledge of Electrical/Solar/Construction issues preferred Expert multitasking ability and experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Amazing customer service skills Technical and professional writing proficiency Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
