Description JOB DESCRIPTION The Renewable Energy Finance (“REF”) team at the Huntington Bank, N.A originates project finance and non-recourse transactions for renewable energy facilities and provides various banking products such as construction loan, sale leaseback, term loan, back-levered debt, and partnership tax equity. The Senior Portfolio Manager will lead structuring, execution, underwriting and monitoring of construction and project financings for renewables projects (wind, solar, battery storage). The position requires working closely with clients, Relationship Managers and Credit Department to underwrite and build a high quality Project Finance portfolio. The Senior Portfolio Manager manages all aspect of due diligence in credit underwriting, financial modeling, approval, execution as well as documentation. The PM also conducts post-closing operational and contractual activities and is responsible for safeguarding the operational and financial performance of the renewable energy projects financed by HNB. Detailed knowledge of renewable energy projects design, functioning, and operations & maintenance (O&M), power purchase agreement and a strong understanding of renewable energy project finance is required. New Business Serves as the point person in underwriting new credit transactions and complete credit underwriting package to be submitted to the Credit Department for an approval. Conduct detailed due diligence, documentation and closing of new transactions Participate in recommendation of new transactions along with the Origination team. Ensure the appropriate entering of the transaction(s) and ongoing reporting into the reference systems of the bank. Cooperate with the Origination to build deep understanding of the power and renewable energy business and financial strategies for REF in support of the general strategy of Huntington Bank; Support (together with Origination) the commercial franchise of the bank and revenue for the bank while minimizing risks. Asset Management Prepare Annual and Quarterly Reviews for the transactions under responsibility; make final recommendation regarding ratings; Prepare HNB financial models, with financial projections; Prepares analysis and write-ups for amendments, consents and waivers to existing credit documentation Use various valuation methodologies such as DCF, Trading/Transaction comps, discounted book value etc. to analyze collateral coverage, and in compliance with US Regulatory Guidelines. Analyze and review term sheets, credit agreements, ISDAs, and other loan documents. Prepare financial projections, relative value and peer analysis Prepare review and present to committee for Watchlist credits. Research, evaluate, and identify industry risks and trends to assess credit and / or anticipate risk evolution for transactions and identify and escalate risk deteriorations in a timely manner; Participate in REF business lines meetings as necessary and appropriate, and other working groups as defined by the bank senior management. Participate in bank meetings on the existing transactions. Conducts periodic site visits to assess management, business conditions and build rapport with accounts. Portfolio Management and Asset Optimization Preparation and presentation of quarterly portfolio updates which should include ratings migrations as well as impact on Liquidity, RWA, Expected Loss, lessons learned (as appropriate) on past transactions and benchmarking with rating agencies and other external data providers (as applicable) with the view to anticipate portfolio risk and profitability. Identify Portfolio optimization strategies in terms of both risk and return, based on forward looking anticipation aiming at optimizing capital consumption in the context of banking regulations, and at increasing potential revenues / Return on Equity. Maintains extensive database of project performance, statistics and general information Monitor concentrations in any commodities or other correlated risks (utilities), and provide assistance in portfolio & sector analysis; Anticipate risk evolution across the portfolio and discuss portfolio allocation and risk mitigation with Head of REF Portfolio Management; Recommend to business lines transactions that may offer cross-selling opportunities. Identify risks or inefficiencies in organization and processes and propose remedies or improvements to senior management; and Work cooperatively with other departments in Huntington to ensure proactive portfolio management and communication of critical information. Prepares white papers on new initiatives in industry Support REF analysis and decision making on new markets, technologies, and equipment vendors. Required Qualifications BA or BS degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
