Summary: The Solar Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager will lead the Solar Service and O&M Department. This role is responsible for directing all activities as it relates to our Service and O&M business including, but not limited to safety, growth, service and maintenance to customers, new outbound sales and account management of ongoing current and future relationships, customer experience, development and continuous improvement of operational systems, leadership, and technical support and training of Service and Maintenance team members. Other duties may be assigned. • Safety: Develops and champions a Safety 24/7 culture within the service and maintenance team. Collaborates with Safety Team to create, enhance, and implement safety procedures and best practices. Completes safety training and ensures that the service and maintenance team is equipped with necessary training. • Culture and Values Cultivation: As Solar O&M Manager create a culture of success and improve a purpose-driven and values based organizational culture that attracts, retains, and motivates high performing service and maintenance team members by leading, managing, and providing accountability to the service and maintenance team. Creates a clear vision that is attainable, manages by executing on the vision, and is accountable for results and adherence to policy and processes. • Service Department Leadership: Grows profitability of service and maintenance operations by successfully increasing contracted revenue, improving efficiency and profitability of department revenue, and by improving the customer experience of all stakeholders. Responsible for generating proposals, responding to RFPs, provides quotes for one-off service repair work to customers. Provides oversight of record-keeping, scheduling and billing for Department. • Strategic Planning: Takes an active role in strategic planning for the O&M Service Department in order to create a plan for growth and expansion of this department. Engages with and leverages the experience and input of the Amicus O+M Cooperative and its members. Researches and develops market pricing intel regarding competition, offerings, pricing trends and competitive analysis. Creates service and maintenance operational vision and strategic plan and articulates that to the team to rally them behind the vision and plan. • Solar O+M Technical Leadership: Develops and maintains essential knowledge of the operation and performance of solar systems ranging from residential to MW scale. Provides internal and customer facing guidance in troubleshooting and analyzing system failures and performance issues, including interfacing with vendors, customers, outside engineers, members of the Amicus Solar O+M Cooperative and internal Kokosing technical experts. Guides and trains Department team members by providing technical oversight and guidance, which may include working in the field to provide hands-on service and maintenance work to customers. Serves as a resource for the broader Solar Design team with feedback and intel on system performance and field issues in order to inform improved solar designs for future customers. • Sales and Marketing: Develops and executes a sales strategy and marketing campaign in collaboration with Leadership Team and Marketing Team. Supports Solar Consultants with sales of O+M packages as needed. Targets historic customers as well as system owners directly or through Solar Consultants. • Customer Service: Directly and by working through the team, delivers white glove treatment to all customers and ensures all members of the service and maintenance team are doing the same. Promotes the highest quality image of Kokosing Solar with customers, team members, vendors, and the community. Delivers top notch customer service externally and internally to all team members with a calm positive approach. • Key Performance Indicators/Metrics: Develops metric driven service and maintenance operation by creating, maintaining, and holding the service and maintenance team accountable for key performance indicators. Makes decisions for planning using data analytics. Creates baseline measurements so that trend analysis can be performed, and data driven decisions can be made. • Financial: Accountable for a profitable service and maintenance department that meets targeted monthly and annual goals. This includes assessing the service and maintenance operations on an ongoing basis and making the necessary adjustments to achieve targets. Provides an accurate schedule and capacity forecasting to facilitate financial reporting and forecasting in collaboration with the Leadership Team. • Documentation/Process Improvement: Responsible for creating, updating, and training on standard service and maintenance operational processes that document the full life-cycle of company service and maintenance operations. Processes will be created in the standard Kokosing Solar template and published to the team. • Technical: Will use a variety of computer software programs, and must be able to learn new software, and train other team members on software. Must also be fluent in using the Microsoft suite. Will leverage the accounting software system for increased efficiency, better customer service and streamlined processes. Will maintain an awareness of developing industry innovations and trends and will incorporate new procedures as appropriate.
