About the Role: As a Solar Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing high-quality, cost-effective, and code-compliant solar PV systems. You will collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, production engineers, construction, and procurement teams to bring commercial-scale solar projects from concept through execution. Key Responsibilities: • System Design & Engineering: Develop complete photovoltaic system designs for Commercial & Industrial sites, including DC and AC schematics, single-line diagrams, equipment selection, and array layouts. • Software & Modeling: Use industry-standard software such as Helioscope, PVsyst, and AutoCAD to perform system modeling, performance simulations, and electrical design. • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, permitting teams, and installation crews to ensure seamless transitions from design through construction. • Performance Analysis: Interpret and analyze site data, production metrics, and customer needs to optimize solar designs for both energy yield and financial performance. • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure designs adhere to NEC, local AHJ requirements, utility interconnection guidelines, and internal quality control processes. Prepare full permit and construction document packages. • Lifecycle Support: Contribute to design revisions and system optimizations during development, construction, and commissioning phases to resolve real-world constraints and opportunities. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in solar PV system design, preferably for C&I applications • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with solar design and modeling tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD). Familiarity with NEC codes and permitting processes is essential. • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or a related Engineering field is preferred. • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
