Laser Operator Job Description Operate a laser to precision cut metal components, frames and containment houses. Determine whether each piece of metal is cut correctly and make adjustments to the computer program as needed. Key Responsibilities: • Cut all thicknesses of metal for filter components, frames and containment houses using a laser machine. • Place metal pieces into the machine and then onto pallets accurately. • Cut notches in metal parts efficiently. • Evaluate metal parts for etching instructions. • Edit computer programs if issues arise during operations. • Set up the computer system if the machine shuts down or experiences technical difficulties. • Download software updates onto the laser computer to maintain optimal performance. • Operate a forklift to pick up and transport metal efficiently. • Document work performed and track metal inventory accurately. • Maintain the laser machine by cleaning, emptying catch trays, vacuuming, changing filters, adding fluids and making necessary adjustments regularly. Requirements: • Accurate measurement skills to 1/32 inch are essential. • Mastery of basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to work with computer programs and convert metric to standard measurements effectively.
