As a Production Supervisor at The Charles Mfg. Co., you will play a key role in overseeing daily shop operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met while driving efficiency and productivity. Skills Required • Read and understand customer drawings. • Minimum of 4 years of experience in supervising sheet metal fabrication operation. • The ability to communicate effectively in the shop and office. • Excellent math skills. • Exceptional mechanical ability. • A high degree of interpersonal skills to motivate, lead and manage employees. • Problem solving, project management, and team building skills. • Troubleshoot and repair equipment when necessary. • Highly motivated to be a working foreman wherever needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Monitoring production to meet on-time delivery. • Identifying and implementing production improvement plans. • Providing leadership, direction, and motivation to shop employees. • Overseeing the clocking in and out of all hourly employees. • Creating and submitting requisitions for shop requirements. • Performing other duties as assigned. • Establish routine planning for each day and week’s production. • Explain specifications, blueprints, and job orders to shop personnel and assign duties appropriately. • Ensure that the facility is unlocked and available for employees to begin work on time. • Turn lights on, air compressors on, and unlock shop doors. • Review attendance daily and communicate any absent employees to General Manager. • Review the previous day’s productivity and provide employees with ways to improve production each day. • Ensure all employees are preforming their job safely. • Communicate with shipping department on products that are ready to ship and ensure any delays are relayed appropriately. • Understand the production schedules and estimate the time it should take for completion of job assignment. • Ensure quoted time estimated are adhered to and communicate any delays as needed. • Train and supervise shop employees. • Initiate or suggest changes in work procedures and use of equipment to increase efficiency in the shop. • Establish or adjust work schedules to meet production demands.
