Day to Day Responsibilities: • Taking and verifying field measurements • Creating a layout and schedule for sheet metal fabrication and installation • Assisting with sheet metal fabrication as needed • Practicing proper operation and maintenance of metal fabricating tools and equipment • Maintaining sheet metal inventory • Completing required paperwork for projects including change orders, work order reports, and time sheets The Ideal Candidate For This Role Is Someone Who: • Is forward thinking with the ability to plan what resources are needed to complete a task. • Is able to share their knowledge with others and enjoys facilitating learning. • Can communicate expectations and hold others accountable to those expectations. • Provides excellent customer service and views their co-workers as their customers in addition to external parties. • Reliably and consistently produces high quality work. Desired Skills and Experience: • High School Diploma • Two or more years experience as a Sheet Metal Journeyman or Foreman with a roofing contractor • OSHA 10 or 30-hour card Employment Requirements: • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Must be eligible for employment in the United States. • Must have reliable transportation. • All candidates must be willing to join union or are currently union members. Physical and Mental Requirements: • Must be able to work at heights. • Regular lifting up to 75 lbs. • Must understand general arithmetic and read and write English at a high school level. • Must be able to perform coordinated movements of the limbs including walking, turning, stooping, reaching, carrying, stepping over and around obstacles, and climbing ladders and scaffolding. • Must be able to sit, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time. Work Environment: • Work is conducted in a construction environment. The occupant of this role will be required to be primarily outdoors and will be working in and around potentially dangerous construction equipment and materials.
