Sheet Metal Journeyman

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Journeyman. The ideal candidate has multiple years of hands-on sheet metal experience and strong TIG welding skills, along with the ability to take a piece of flat metal and turn it into a finished product using blueprints and drawings. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Overtime as needed) Pay: Up to $40/hour Key Responsibilities: • Perform high-quality TIG welding, with MIG welding as a secondary skill. • Operate shop equipment including press brakes, metal shears, and metal rolls safely and efficiently. • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to produce precise sheet metal components. • Layout, measure, and mark sheet metal for cutting, bending, and forming operations. • Fabricate complex sheet metal parts, assemblies, and structures from flat stock to finished product. • Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure work meets specifications and tolerances. • Maintain and calibrate equipment, hand tools, and measuring instruments to ensure accurate results. • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and team members to solve fabrication challenges. • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

SUMMARY: The Sheet Metal Technician II works under general supervision to safely layout, fabricate, and install parts, equipment and fabricated items on aircraft following established operating procedures. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: ·Safely perform sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft under general supervision ·Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications ·Use complicated schematics/blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions to safely perform sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft ·Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions REQUIREMENTS: ·Corporate aircraft exp. preferred but all regional and commercial experience will be considered, pay rate depends on experience level. ·Sheet Metal and/or fabrication experience ·Knowledge of sheet metal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling) ·Experience in aerospace industry required ·Must be willing to work any shift including unscheduled overtime, nonscheduled work days and holidays as needed Eligible candidates email your updated resume in to Lori Quintero Lori@hsgi-inc.com and call me at 954-865-2470 for review and consideration.
