The operator may be required to assist other operators as a helper on high-priority work or other machines as needed. This is a cross-functional position within the Press Brake department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Set up and operate a press brake for routine established work. • Select the correct tooling for the job task with the setup documents. • Load, install, and correctly set up the required tools. • Perform assigned work within time standards and quality expectations. • Inspect the work of coworkers as required. • Account for time and work completed. • Safely handle materials and complete work. • Make routine decisions and use problem-solving to resolve fundamental manufacturing issues or seek assistance from qualified sources. • Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues. • Maintain performance logbooks on assigned area equipment and report any deficiencies. • Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level. 4.0 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Metal press brake and basic fabrication background. • Basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, press brake required. • Competent at basic dimensional measuring and the use of precision measurement tools. • Demonstrated competency in basic shop math. • Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawings. • Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation. • Good verbal communication skills. • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement. • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations. • Demonstrated ability to implement or respond to change effectively. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Lift, carry, push and or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently. • Sit, stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day. • Work in an industrial environment wearing hearing protection and other appropriate protective gear. Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs). 8. Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. 9. Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO), performs necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity. 10. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S & Lean Initiative Program and complies with all safety regulations. 11. Work with little or no supervision. 12.
