Sheet Metal Foreman

We specialize in commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, electrical, building automation and controls as well as the maintenance of these systems. The Sheet Metal Foreman will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing HVAC projects with precision and excellence. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of ductwork, AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, and other related equipment. The Foreman will lead a team of technicians, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards. • Extensive knowledge of duct joint assembly, hanger installation, and anchor systems for ductwork suspension. • Proficiency in identifying HVAC equipment types (AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, etc.) and differentiating between low and high-pressure systems. • Skilled in the application of duct sealer and proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, details, and submittals. • Capability to perform equipment and duct layout, including field modification of sheet metal duct offsets and fittings. • Strong leadership skills, capable of training less experienced helpers and mechanics and coordinating tasks in the absence of the Foreman. • Maintenance of a clean and organized company vehicle. • Excellent communication skills, following directives from Project Managers (PM), Construction Managers (CM), and Supervisors. • A positive attitude, patience in teaching, dependability, and excellent attendance. • Understand and manage project budgets and manhours, ensuring efficient use of resources. • Follow Statement of Work (SOW) directives and install systems according to plans, specifications, and detailed instructions. • Provide regular project updates through email, formulate addendums as needed, and coordinate inspections. • Assign daily tasks, prepare daily reports, and manage timekeeping for crew members. • Develop Daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Safety Analysis (HSA) to ensure a safe working environment. • Actively work with and assist the crew in all installation tasks, promoting teamwork and efficiency. What are the minimum qualifications an employee must have in order to perform the duties of the position? Commercial HVAC/Sheet Metal

Job Summary: Level 3 Mechanic – Commercial HVAC/Sheet Metal The Level 3 Mechanic plays a crucial role in HVAC and sheet metal installation, working alongside and supervising helpers while ensuring quality workmanship. This role requires advanced technical skills, leadership abilities, and a strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, and blueprint reading. The Level 3 Mechanic serves as a key support to the Foreman and may coordinate job site activities in their absence. Responsibilities: • Train Helpers on Mechanic-level skills and logistics. • Supervise and work alongside Level 1 & 2 Helpers. • Follow and enforce Foreman directives to ensure task completion. • Read and scale plans for layout and execution. • Layout and install hangers and/or duct. • Assemble duct joints and fittings. • Assemble trunk lines and prepare for suspension. • Fabricate and install single and double-wall spiral duct. • Operate machinery and equipment as needed. • Seal all duct connections to ensure efficiency. • Install hangers per layout specifications. • Assist in the demolition of existing equipment and ductwork. • Load and unload duct materials for/from delivery. • Serve as a gofer/runner to support project needs. • Stage duct materials for installation. • Perform caulking and painting tasks as required. • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, removing trash and debris. • Adhere to all PTM safety policies and procedures Requirements: • Possesses all required hand tools. • Understands the purpose and proper use of each hand tool. • Proficient in duct joint assembly mechanics. • Proficient in hanger installation and anchor systems for duct suspension. • Able to identify and differentiate between HVAC equipment (AHU, RTU, MUA, VAVs, EF, etc.). • Understands low-pressure vs. high-pressure systems. • Knowledgeable in the proper installation of duct sealer. • Able to read and interpret blueprints. • Capable of performing basic layout for installations. • Skilled in field modifications of sheet metal duct and fittings. • Able to create field offsets and measure/formulate cut sheets. • Experience in training and mentoring less experienced employees. • Ability to coordinate job site activities in the Foreman’s absence. • Reliable transportation to and from job sites. • Ability to follow instructions from the Foreman and/or Supervisor. • Maintains a positive attitude and patience to teach. • Dependable with strong attendance record. • Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 25 lbs. or more. • Adheres to all PTM safety policies and procedures.
