Aluminum Fabricator

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Aluminum Fabricator to join our team at Chesapeake Shipbuilding. As an Aluminum Fabricator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures, and operating metalwork machinery. You will also be required to weld aluminum plate and stainless steel parts using various techniques. • Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. • Constructing base templates if necessary. • Measuring and marking out cutting. • Operating metalwork machinery such as rollers, drill presses, plasma cutters, pipe benders, and welding machines. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience welding/fabricating aluminum. • Ability to set up welding machines and equipment (MIG,TIG, and SMAW). • Experience with shop and field fabrication, assembly sequencing, and fitting. • Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and templates. • Familiarity with industry codes and regulations. • Safe use of all tools and equipment.
