Responsibilities of the Sheet Metal Fabricator Operator: • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine material requirements and fabrication techniques. • Use tools such as shears, lasers, and plasma cutters to cut sheet metal to specified dimensions. • Operate bending machines, press brakes, and rollers to shape and form metal components according to design requirements. • Assemble and weld metal parts using techniques such as MIG, TIG, and spot welding to create final products or structures. • Use hand tools and power tools to trim, grind, and finish metal surfaces. • Ensure that all welds, joints, and seams are properly finished and meet quality standards. • Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. • Perform dimensional checks using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. • Address and correct any defects or discrepancies found during inspection.
