Full job Description: Gardner Products, Inc. is a second generation family run business founded in 1976 and located in Rochelle Il. We operate as a job shop in which we manufacture a wide variety of parts and offer support for many local and national companies. We also have our own OEM product line which we support through our job shop. We are looking for a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder to fill a full time Position. We currently operate shears, turret press, press brakes, and welding machines. We perform low volume fabricating and secondary operations on manual mills, lathes, grinders, saws and drill presses. Our company operates a first shift, daytime, on-site, work schedule. Primary responsibilities for Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder • Develop layouts and blanks as needed for final product. • Develop routing instructions, Interpret blueprints and 2D & 3D models. • Setup and operate shear, turret press, press brake, hand punches, welding operations and all equipment required to complete jobs per customer specs. • Perform instruction and assist in setup for other machine operators. • Prepare raw parts and debur completed parts. • Perform inspection checks of parts to specifications, • Manage direct and in-direct time efficiently. • Keep work area clean and safe. • Perform daily machinery upkeep and maintenance. • Work with and train other employees. Qualifications for Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder • Minimum of 3 years experience Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder • Skilled in general machining and processes • Excellent math skills, spatial understanding and awareness • Knowledge of GD&T(Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) • Experience in manual machining is helpful Personal integrity, attention to detail, pride of workmanship, and excellent work habits.
