General Purpose of the Position: The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for oversight and direction of operations in the shipping and receiving area, preparing product for shipments, pallet utilization, loading trucks and resolving any shipping errors or complaints. This is a hands-on position responsible for motivating employees to perform at, or above, expected levels while maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing Company policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Responsibilities: · Communicate effectively with manufacturing team, Customer Service, and drivers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries. · Maintain an orderly and neat stock, in both receiving and shipping. · Oversee compliance of receiving practices with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company property, personnel practices, security, and record-keeping procedures. · Establish and maintain the continuous flow process to ensure timely delivery to internal and external customers. · Ensure that product being shipped meets company quality standards. · Responsible for maintaining relationship with shipping brokers and LTI/LTE Companies. Coordinates shipments with LTI/LTE Common Carriers for shipping products as needed. · Responsible for all UPS shipments. · Ensure that all receiving functions that affect the business units and finished goods inventory are processed accurately by verifying purchase orders and ticketing and auditing the validation and verification reports. · Oversee and participate in the timely receipt and distribution of all incoming deliveries according to Company Standards. What are we looking for in the next Shipping Supervisor? Qualifications: • Qualified candidates must have at least three (3) years supervisory experience. • One (1) year inventory management experience. • Candidates must be proficient in excel with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. • Ability to drive a forklift is required. • A high school degree or GED equivalent is preferred. • Communicate effectively with manufacturing team, order entry and drivers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries. • Maintain an orderly and neat stock, in both receiving and shipping. • Oversee compliance of receiving practices with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company property, personnel practices, security, and record-keeping procedures. • Establish and maintain the continuous flow process to ensure timely delivery to the internal and external customers. • Ensure that product being shipped meets company quality standards. • Responsible for maintaining relationship with shipping brokers and LTI/LTE Companies.
