SHEET METAL MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

LOCATION Jamestown, NY FUNCTION Non-production, salaried EXPERIENCE LEVEL 2+ year preferred JOB TYPE Permanent WORK SCHEDULE Full Time Objective: Under the leadership of the Senior Engineer and Senior Vice President of Engineering, the candidate must be able to design new and custom parts in SolidWorks/Inventor and methodize the manufacturing process. The candidate should be knowledgeable in drafting disciplines including revision control, manufacturing tolerances, welding symbols, and the cost of manufacturing methods. The candidate must also be able to work closely with sales representatives and cover the role of a sales engineer to provide our customers with accurate and timely quotes. Minimum Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing with a background in fabrication and CNC environments • Sheet metal: 2 years (Required) • Manufacturing: 5 years (Required) • AutoCAD: 5 years • SolidWorks or Inventor: 5 years Job Requirements: • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or another brand of 3D CAD software • Will need working knowledge of sheet metal development and/or manufacturing/fabrication techniques • Proficient in MRP and MS Office software platforms • Strong organizational skills • Good administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills • Ability to work as an individual contributor and a team player • Reliable, good work ethic, and high integrity Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • New and custom parts need to be designed in SolidWorks or Inventor • Design new products and redesign existing sheet metal parts • Optimize cost-effectiveness of manufacturing methods • Understand the theory of flat pattern layout and use our 3D CAD software to create sheet metal parts and reverse-engineered components as needed • Generate assembly models and drawings for mechanical assemblies • Troubleshoot problems in the manufacturing of sheet metal parts • The ability to design welding fixtures is a plus • Review all product requirements to ensure full compliance with the company’s capabilities, industry standards, and best practices • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management • Other duties as assigned by Management Pay Range • $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year – Based on experience For more information, contact our human resources representative: [email protected] 716-664-3815
