Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $21.25 - Midpoint: $26.59 (Hourly N6) Department/Organization: 504104 - Plumbing Maintenance Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm; some shift work & extended hours Job Summary: The Plumber Utility Mechanic II performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the heating, plumbing, mechanical piping and structural steel trades. Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs heating, plumbing, mechanical piping systems, structural steel, package boiler equipment and water treatment, kitchen equipment, auxiliary equipment, steam, water, gas systems and other building mechanical equipment; auxiliary equipment, steam, water, sewers both sanitary and storm, irrigation systems gas and air systems and other building mechanical equipment; above and underground steam, domestic water, HVAC (chilled and hot water), sanitary and storm distribution systems; firing, tending and maintaining pressure boilers to supply heat for buildings and domestic hot water. Makes limited estimates from on-site inspections. Provides work leadership to other trades personnel. Drives from site to site. Required Minimum Qualifications: Journeyman card in plumbing, pipefitting structural steel (iron worker), boilermaker, millwright, boiler tender, steamfitter, or sprinkler fitter and two (2) years of plumbing, pipefitting, structural steel (iron worker), boilermaker, millwright, boiler tender, steamfitter, or sprinkler fitter experience. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
