All carpentry, electrical work, or simple plumbing repairs are performed under supervision by qualified personnel. Requirements A certified Plumber with proven experience in installing, inspecting, and repairing pipes and plumbing systems to make sure all buildings’ fixtures operate correctly. Must have exceptional customer service. Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work orders to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections. Prepare client bids, budgets, and cost estimates. Keep accurate work logs. Adhere to all plumbing building codes and regulations. Ensure all work meets safety standards and follows best practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Familiarity with the intricacies of working with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper. Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other professionals during construction. Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in basic mathematics and measurement conversion. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Certification in Plumbing, building maintenance technology preferred. • Must be steady, reliable worker. • Maintain a valid driver’s license preferably • Must be detail oriented with strong manual ability and problem solving skills. General Maintenance Technician

General Maintenance Technician Department: Physical Plant Type: Full Time Contact Name: Talladega College Office of Human Resources Contact Email: hr@talladega.edu Summary To perform routine maintenance duties including rough carpentry, painting, and basic equipment or facility and vehicle repairs. All carpentry, electrical work, or simple plumbing repairs are performed under supervision by qualified personnel. Responsibilities • Reports to supervisor of Physical Plant to receive daily assignments. • Performs simple carpentry tasks, such as installing shelves, hooks, or closet rods. • Changes light bulbs, may replace fixtures, and does similar minor electrical tasks. • Opens clogged drains, fixes leaks, and performs other simple plumbing jobs. • Does touch-up painting and repaints rooms as required. • Mows lawn, removes weeds and brush, and does other yard work. • Assists with loading or unloading trucks and moving furniture when needed. • Maintains tools and maintenance equipment in working order and keeps maintenance room in neat condition. • Assists with maintenance of vehicles including shop work, cleanliness of buses, etc. • Must drive passenger buses, and other college vehicles as scheduled for various trips. • Ability to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams independently after being given specific instructions. • Must have general knowledge of simple requirement used in the building trades. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • “On Call” for after hours and weekend emergencies. • Ability to work from a ladder or lift platform. • Ability to work after hours and weekends as the school calendar dictates. • Reliable transportation needed. • Ability to perform occasional work in a confined space. • Prolonged periods standing and walking. • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • Certification in building maintenance technology preferred. • Must be steady, reliable worker. • Maintain a valid driver’s license preferably CDL. • Must be detail oriented with strong manual ability and problem solving skills.
