The ideal candidate will assist journeyman and master plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in commercial buildings while gaining hands-on experience in pipe installation and related tasks. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial construction projects. • Work with various types of pipes, including PVC, copper, and cast iron. • Measure, cut, and assemble pipes to precise specifications. • Help read and interpret blueprints, plumbing schematics, and technical drawings. • Support the installation of water supply and drainage systems under supervision. • Learn to test plumbing systems for safety, efficiency, and compliance. • Assist in troubleshooting plumbing issues and making necessary repairs. • Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes and regulations. • Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors to complete projects on time. • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA guidelines. Qualifications: • Apprentice Plumbers License. Minimum Requirements • High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency) • 11+ years’ experience in the plumbing trade. • 5+ years supervisory experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing systems at a commercial and/or educational (K-12 or University) establishment. • Valid State of Texas approved Master Plumber license to be dedicated to the San Antonio Independent School District as Master Plumber of Record • Backflow Prevention assembly tester certified through Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) • Valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record; must meet and maintain liability coverage eligibility. • Candidate may work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs. • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
