Responsibilities Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components – 60% • Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in water systems to identify equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs. • Installs, maintains, and repairs domestic water pumps, water piping lines, water filters, and plumbing fixtures. • Repairs and maintains steam stations, valves, heating, and condensation return stations and sewer and storm drains. • Tests fire system valves, tamper switches, fire pumps, and dry deluge fire systems. • Maintains the piping and supply of cylinder and bulk medical gas systems. • Prepares the preventative maintenance schedule and produces monthly reports. • Develops procedures and conducts preventative maintenance and service inspections of backflow devices and cross-connection control awareness. • Responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns. • Identifies and recommends long-term needs and strategies for plumbing systems and components, resulting in cost savings. • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders to provide information for making decisions, taking appropriate action, and/or complying with building and safety regulations. • Maintains vehicle, tools, and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition. • May serve as a dedicated service tech, providing electrical services to facilities/buildings within a defined region, requiring travel to multiple sites to perform service and billings functions. • May travel to multiple sites to perform functions of the role. • May coordinate, maintain, and repair all energy management systems.
