Office is located in Gardiner Opening Date: July 3, 2025 Closing Date: August 3, 2025 The DPFR Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation, Plumbers Examining Board, is seeking a Senior Plumbing Inspector to protect public health, safety, and welfare. The Senior Inspector will work independently across the state to: • Educate and assist Local Plumbing Inspectors • Help educate plumbers on updated codes • Respond to complaints against plumbers • Assist the public with plumbing-related issues • Educate plumbers on current and changing codes, including preparing and presenting educational programs • Educate Local Plumbing Inspectors on plumbing codes to enforce those codes in their communities • Assist LPIs with complaints or unusual inspections and advise on the same • Develop standard operating procedures for plumbing inspectors to ensure proper job performance • Investigate complaints and violations, and testify as an expert witness in court hearings • Help develop and maintain state licensing examinations Skills or knowledge required: • Effective communication skills • Clear and effective writing skills • Ability to investigate complaints and take appropriate actions • Ability to explain violations and instruct in proper procedures • Willingness to prepare and deliver presentations to varied group sizes Minimum qualifications: Four (4) years of experience as a Licensed Master Plumber. Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements: Master Plumber's license and Maine Driver's license.
