Service Technician/Plumber - We will Train

Piping Plumbing Designer

Piping Plumbing Designer — (EPC / Industrial & Government Facilities) Will help cover relocation Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer to deliver safe, code-compliant plumbing and utility systems for complex EPC projects (nuclear, industrial, federal, and commercial facilities). You will develop complete design packages—from early concepts and P&IDs through piping isometrics and model coordination—while serving as a technical resource for multi-disciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed design of domestic water, sanitary waste, process drainage, storm-/roof-drain, and water-heater systems. Generate riser diagrams, utility flow diagrams, P&IDs, and piping isometrics; size piping and select materials to meet IPC, ASME B31.3, ANSI/ISEA Z358.1, and OSHA requirements. Conduct safety-shower location analyses and integrate findings into facility layouts. Model systems in Smart 3D/Navisworks; run hydraulic calculations in AFT Fathom and document results. Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams to resolve clashes and optimize routing. Prepare drawing sets, BOMs, and construction specifications; respond to RFIs and support field-engineering during installation and start-up. Mentor junior designers and contribute to discipline standards and QA/QC reviews. Required Qualifications Education: AS or BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or related field. Experience: 5 + years in plumbing design for industrial or government projects, including at least two of the following sectors: nuclear, pharma/biotech, manufacturing, oil & gas, or DOE/DOD facilities. Software: Proficiency with Smart 3D (or other 3D plant design), Navisworks, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam Revu, MS Word/Excel, and common CAD platforms. Codes/Standards: Working knowledge of IPC/NPC, ASME B31.3, ASME NQA-1, OSHA 1910/1926, and ANSI/ISEA Z358.1. Ability to obtain/maintain US federal site access if required. Preferred / “Nice to Have” LEED AP or ASPE Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD). Experience acting as a Discipline Lead, Design Supervisor, or SME. Familiarity with EPC workflows, nuclear quality programs, and Navisworks clash detection.
