Job Summary Performs plumbing maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance, operational functions, and new work to support the engineering functions at GMMC. Documents all work as required. Be the difference. • Repairs valves, fixtures and fittings in heating and drainage. Repair heat exchangers, removes and replaces coils, replaces valves and associated equipment on steam systems. • Replaces washers, faucets and broken pipes; solders or caulks leads, opens clogged drains. Maintains and repairs sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and other plumbing fixtures. • Performs scheduled tests to comply with JCAHO, DHEC and other standards. Achieves 90% required attendance at training classes. • Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and records appropriately. Detects repairs necessary, implements repair request as required, and recommends PM frequency changes, additions, deletions to PM schedule. • Installs and repairs medical gas lines. Performs pressure tests on piping and gas lines to ensure proper function. Assists HVAC craft with refrigeration and HVAC repairs. • Repairs pumps and aligns motors on systems. Installs new plumbing-related fixtures or piping • Maintains and repairs control air compressors. Coordinate fire sprinkler shutdowns and repairs. • Available for call-back for emergency situations. Works with blueprints and drawings. Utilizes material in a cost-effective manner. Documents all materials used for each project. • Maintains and repairs medical air compressors and vacuum pumps. Perform custom welding and fabrication repairs. • Performs other duties as assigned. Review blueprints, building codes, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance of work. 45% • Maintain Outdoor Plumbing Systems: As a result of damage from work crews, identify and repair or replace broken or leaking systems on City property to include outdoor water supply, drainage, irrigation lines, etc. Conduct annual inspection of backflow devices and repair or replace as necessary.
