Plumber Maintenance - Ogden

Summary/General Description of Responsibilities: The Maintenance Plumber performs basic preventive maintenance as assigned on all equipment/machinery located in the Ogden IRS building. The Maintenance Plumber assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes, studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required, and sequence of installations. This worker inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe, and locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors. This worker cuts openings in walls and floors, performs trenching by hand or power equipment to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and power tools, cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine, bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine. The Maintenance Plumber assembles and installs valves, pipefittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic. This person joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints, fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking, installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, water softeners and clogged toilets. This person repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains, inspections of drains using specialized camera systems and may weld holding fixtures to steel structural members. This person will spot utilities, repair water mains, hydrants and valves. Other duties may be assigned as required. Working Conditions: May require exposure to disagreeable conditions including sewers, mud, sand, dirt, trenches, grease, caustic chemicals, paint/gasoline fumes, equipment noise and vibration, inclement weather and dampness and confined spaces. May be subject to irregular shift hrs if required. Minimum Qualifications/Job Requirements: • Minimum 5 years’ experience • High School Diploma (or Equivalent) • Valid driver license/airfield driver’s license • Travel for training when required • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirement • Knowledge of plumbing codes • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. • Must be able to climb ladders and work in outdoor/indoor overhead conditions to include man lifts • Variable working hours may be required due to operational requirements • Stand for long periods of time, including an 8 hour shift • Must be able to effectively communicate with airfield control towers and other NAVAIR authorities. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player; ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others Ability to perform duties to all local, state and federal safety standards

Plumbing Service Technician

Job Description: We are seeking experienced and customer-focused Residential Plumbing Service Technicians to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing a wide range of plumbing components for residential and light commercial properties. This includes plumbing fixtures and appliances, as well as all piping for plumbing system including water lines and sewer lines. The candidate we are looking for will be able to provide a great experience to customers by educating them about their plumbing system and providing short and long term solutions to their plumbing problems. Candidates must be technically sound plumbers capable of completing tasks efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities: • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances in residential properties (e.g., faucets, water heaters, garbage disposals, toilets, water softeners, and more). • Diagnose plumbing issues and offer effective solutions for repairs and replacements. • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including water heater flushes, pipe inspection, water pressure testing, and water quality testing. • Communicate effectively with customers educating them about their plumbing system. • Communicate effectively with team members including apprentices, managers, and office staff. As well as vendors and contractors. • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle with all necessary tools and equipment. • Follow all company operating procedures including customer communication service system, purchases and POs, and CRM/ company software. • Ensure compliance with all local plumbing codes and safety regulations. • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and new plumbing technologies. . Qualifications: Required: • 3 years of experience or journeyman plumbing license • Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems including diagnosing, repairs, and installation techniques aligned with industry standards • Ability to read and design work orders, blueprints, and diagrams • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills • Valid plumbing license • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Humility, willingness to admit when you are unsure of best installation practice or unsure of diagnosis Why Join Us?
