Regional Maintenance Plumber

The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for anenergized and collaborative Regional Maintenance Plumber (Plumber II), to be a part of the Mountain Regional Maintenance Team. This position will have a duty station at Mountain Regional Maintenance Yard in Lenoir, NC and willbe tasked with completing plumbing and mechanical preventative maintenance and like-in-kind Force Account system replacements. A successful candidate for this Regional Maintenance Plumber (Plumber II) position, shall have journeyman levelexperience in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, equipment, fixtures, andmachinery; be able to work independently to complete work assignments received by a supervisor; read and interpret blueprints; and perform other assigned duties. This position requires the daily commute to Mountain Regional Maintenance Yard in Lenoir, NC. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The work schedule is Monday – Friday and may require some weekendwork and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization. Management Preferences: • Experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of plumbing piping, systems, and/or equipment, including but not limited to faucets, fixtures, pumps, boilers, steel and PVC piping, fire protection piping, underground piping, etc. • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the repair, replacement or construction of piping systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
