This is just one of the many perks you have to look forward to How will you contribute? You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced journeymen to gain hands-on plumbing knowledge. This position is an entry-level position that provides an excellent pathway to a 5-year apprenticeship, where you will be trained to become a Plumbing Journeyman. You will show your attention to detail while installing hangers, material handling, and maintaining jobsite organization. What you need to qualify: Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, have a clean driving record to operate company vehicles, and pass an appropriate aptitude test and drug screen. This job entails a great deal of lifting and climbing. Successful candidates must be self-starters, have a strong mechanical background, have a good working and learning attitude, and be able to work in a fast-paced construction environment both in and outdoors. Dependability and working well as a member of the construction team is essential. Previous experience working with plumbing components is preferred, but not required. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PLUMBING ENGINEER • Head over to the commons and grab yourself a coffee! • Reflect back on your schedule for the week. You covered this in your weekly team meeting! • Now to get to work in Revit! Your main task for the day includes producing a set of design documents. This includes: • Plans • Isometrics • Specifications • Details based on Engineering Principles and Code Knowledge • Have a question for the Project Designer or Project Manager? Walk on over to their desk and hash it out. • How is it lunchtime already? Food trucks are regularly on-site in the summer, and we're 5 minutes away from your favorite fast food. Need to move around? Take a walk around the pond or get a quick workout in at our fitness facility. • Continue working on your set of design documents and check in with the drafting technicians. • Review shop drawings and RFI requests. • Some days, you might be out of the office to conduct a field survey or construction inspection! WHAT SHOULD YOU BE ABLE TO DO? • Communicate effectively and in a professional manner with your team and clients. • Complete your own set of design documents and drafting. • Work confidently in Microsoft Office. IDEAL CANDIDATE • Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering • Successfully passed PE Exam, preferred. • Experience: Minimum 5-8 years.
