Apprentice Plumber job at Comfort Systems USA Southeast. Foley, AL. As a Plumber Apprentice, you will support commercial and industrial construction projects by installing plumbing systems and related materials. Job Duties • Assists with commercial and industrial plumbing installation from underground/rough-ins, stack out to trim outs on large scale construction projects such as healthcare, government, educations, manufacturing and others • Install hangers and supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation for water, gas, compressed air, medical gas and/or other liquids • Regular use of basic hand tools and ability to read a tape measure • Assist with the installation of materials such as copper, steel, cast iron, PVC, CPVC, PEX, and other piping • Duties could include assisting with setting grease traps, decontamination tanks, oil interceptors, lint interceptors, utility hookups, etc. • Able to work off ladders, man lifts and other equipment from various heights • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned Requirements • 3 or more years of experience of commercial plumbing experience • Current/valid apprentice license in applicable state • Willingness to learn to read blueprints and shop drawings • Knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to read a tape measure • OSHA 10 certification preferred (company will provide if needed) • High school diploma or GED preferred • Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to perform routine measurements and calculations.
