Plumbers will be required to have all applicable hand tools. You will also need reliable transportation and the ability to take and pas a pre-employment drug screening. We have a large volume of work available locally, as well as out of town work if you are willing to travel. Per diem is available for qualifying jobs. Commercial Service Plumber

Reports to: Service Plumbing Manager Focus Areas: Higher education, k-12, hospitals, hotels, government, other institutional campuses or facilities. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide service and maintenance to customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base in the above focus areas. • Responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in commercial and industrial buildings. • Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative service, maintenance, inspections and site surveys, as needed or requested by customers. Requirements • A High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years as a journeyman plumber with experience in commercial plumbing service; or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage). • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 pounds. • Commercial sewer and drain experience. • Backflow License is a plus. • Medical Gas Certification is a plus. • This position is full time hours. Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality are expected in this role in order to meet the needs of our clients. Plumber, Facilities

As a Loyola University Plumber, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of plumbing systems across the Loyola campus. Your role will involve diagnosing, repairing, and installing plumbing fixtures, pipes, and systems in various university buildings, including dormitories, academic buildings, administrative offices, and recreational facilities. You will collaborate with other maintenance staff and university departments to address plumbing issues promptly and efficiently, contributing to the overall safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the campus environment.Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Respond promptly to plumbing service requests from university staff, faculty, and students, addressing issues such as leaks, clogs, and malfunctions. Diagnose plumbing problems using appropriate tools and techniques, and implement effective repair solutions. Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters, in accordance with manufacturer specifications and building codes. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of plumbing systems and prevent costly repairs. Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and university departments to coordinate plumbing projects and ensure timely completion. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Respond to emergency plumbing situations outside of regular working hours, as needed, to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of campus occupants. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas, equipment, and job sites. Stay informed about advances in plumbing technology, techniques, and regulations through training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities. • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing is preferred. • Proven experience in commercial or institutional plumbing maintenance, preferably in a university or large-scale facility. • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, components, and materials, including copper, PVC, and PEX piping. • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand plumbing layouts and specifications. • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, such as pipe wrenches, pliers, and pipe cutters, safely and effectively. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and implement appropriate solutions. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with university staff, faculty, students, and contractors. • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work in confined spaces, at heights, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and ability to work in various weather conditions • Commitment to maintaining a positive and customer-focused attitude while delivering high-quality plumbing services in a fast-paced environment. • Must possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license as a condition of employment, and must also be able to successfully pass any driver background information investigation and any driver education courses required by Risk Management. • Must be willing to work overtime when assigned, and to adjust work schedule to the needs of the department when necessary
