Plumbing Technician (Park Ops Plumber)

The Plumbing Tech works on site at various BREC facilities to repair, maintain, alter, and create new plumbing systems, including water lines, drain lines, gas lines, air lines, sprinkler systems, gas heaters, water heaters, drinking fountains. The work is largely independent and subject to periodic inspection and checks.Education Required: H. S. Diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred: Vo-tech school diploma or Associates degree, or completion of recognized apprenticeship program. License(s) Required: Valid LA Driver's License. Preferred: Licensed Plumber Years Relevant Work Experience: 3 years of work related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Preferred: 10 or more years related experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Considerable knowledge of plumbing and irrigation systems and ability to identify and correct problems • Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe operation of the trade • Ability to operate trencher/backhoe • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Ability to read and write the English language • Ability to operate and transport mini-excavators, backhoes and other digging equipment. • Ability to read blueprints • Must have a positive attitude with the willingness and desire to learn new skills • Ability to adjust to changing work demands, procedures, technology, and/or priorities • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Essential Functions and Duties: • Installing and performing repairs and replacements to plumbing systems as needed in all BREC facilities to ensure proper working condition. • Repair/replacement of plumbing fixtures and components, such as sinks, toilets, shower hardware, etc. • Installation, repair, replacements of irrigation systems and backflow preventers. • Inspection, repair, replacement of drinking fountains, plumbing pipes, heaters, valves, fixtures. • Insulation of plumbing lines, and related equipment as necessary. • Clearing, repair of sewer lines. • Inspection, repair and maintenance of swimming pool mechanical systems. • Purchase of needed supplies and materials for jobs. • Proper recording of daily tasks and expenses. Secondary Job Duties • Operation and maintenance of swimming pool and other aquatic feature circulation systems and water quality. • Keeping track of all assigned equipment and inventory. • Assisting other trades people with basic tasks. • Other duties as assigned. We are seeking an experienced service plumber with knowledge of diagnosing, installing, and providing repairs for plumbing related issues in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
