Opportunity Summary: Journeyman Plumber We are excited to announce an opening for a Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in our properties, ensuring the safety, functionality, and comfort of our residents. Compensation Structure: • Hourly Rate: $30 - $33 • Annual Performance Incentive: $5,000 Primary Responsibilities: • Plumbing Installations: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, faucets, valves, water heaters, and drainage systems. • Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions. • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as clearing clogs, repairing leaks, and replacing worn parts to ensure proper water flow. • Emergency Repairs: Promptly respond to emergency plumbing repair requests to minimize disruptions to residents. • New Construction: Collaborate with construction teams on new building projects to install plumbing systems according to specifications and codes. • Pipe Fitting: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes and sizes for installations or repairs. • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot plumbing problems, including leaks, blockages, and malfunctions, and determine the best course of action for repair. • Quality Assurance: Ensure all plumbing work meets industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines. • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities. • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to residents, addressing their plumbing concerns professionally and efficiently. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate safety equipment to prevent accidents and injuries. • Collaboration: Coordinate with property management teams and other maintenance staff to prioritize and schedule plumbing tasks. • Tools and Inventory: Maintain and organize plumbing tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure availability for repairs and installations. • Training and Mentorship: Assist the Master Plumber in skill development and training programs. Qualifications: • License/Certification: Journeyman Plumber's license or certification. • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is a plus. • Experience: Proven experience as a Journeyman Plumber. • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations. • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. • Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Tools: Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment. • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor and work in various conditions. • Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; a truck or van is preferred. Job Description Performs a wide range of plumbing install and services for residential customers. Promotes the sale of all other services offered by our Company to customers. PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES - Installs Hot Water Boilers, Steam Boilers, Water Heaters and modifies existing plumbing lines and equipment according to installation instructions, supervisor instructions and all applicable county or city codes. -Identifies and corrects problems in hot water/steam boilers, water heaters and gas/water piping. -Performs minimum service on steam boilers with supervision. -Performs a wide range of plumbing services to include installing new gas line and water lines. Able to put perform air test on gas piping. -Modifies and fabricates pipe fittings as needed per installation. -Identifies electrical, plumbing and safety problems that apply to the installation and takes necessary corrective action. -Performs clerical duties necessary to complete requests for service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Journeyman's license -Valid driver's license KNOWLEDGE - Advanced knowledge and skills in residential plumbing install and services. - Advanced knowledge of local plumbing and gas codes. - Advanced knowledge of the tools and materials related to the plumbing install and service field. Skills/Abilities: - Must have advanced ability to read and comprehend blue specifications / schematics. - Must have a Maryland State Plumbing License and active back flow. - Advanced skills in the servicing of hot water and steam boilers. - Advanced customer relations skills. - Advanced ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. - Advanced skills in the sales of services offered by our Company.
