Plumber - Construction

• JOB SUMMARY • Under the supervision of the Director of Construction, Construction Manager or designee, performs duties relevant to, but not limited to, the installation of plumbing systems and equipment. The Plumber shall also perform routine and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to the steam, medical air, oxygen, heating, cooling and drain piping and equipment in the Medical Center or the Medical Center properties. The Plumber shall be a resource person for other staff and outside vendors. • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Repairs or replaces pipe by welding, soldering or threading as needed. • Repacks pumps and replaces seals when indicated. • Rough in and set plumbing fixtures as needed or required. • Plumber II needs to be medical gas brazing certified and retains this certification. • Performs general maintenance on all controls and machineries related to the heating, cooling, steam, medical air, and oxygen and drain pipe systems. Mechanic will need to know basic maintenance for the facility. • Reports un-repairable equipment to the Maintenance Manager or authorized designee. • Provides on call and technical assistance for the repair of any equipment and utility system. • Assist with ordering of plumbing parts when necessary, help keep stock levels at an adequate level and organized. • Reviews all new projects and develops material list for all major renovations and construction jobs. • Assists with on the job training when assigned.
