Day-to-Day Responsibilities (Detailed Breakdown): Customer Interaction: • Arrive at customer locations on time and in a company-provided vehicle, presenting a professional appearance and demeanor. • Greet customers courteously, actively listen to their concerns, and thoroughly assess their plumbing needs. • Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose plumbing issues accurately. • Clearly and patiently explain the problem, proposed solutions, and associated costs to customers in easy-to-understand terms, ensuring they are fully informed before any work begins. • Answer customer questions knowledgeably and address any concerns they may have. • Obtain customer authorization before proceeding with any work. Plumbing Service, Repair, and Installation: • Leak Detection and Repair: Expertly locate and repair leaks in pipes, fixtures, and appliances, utilizing advanced leak detection techniques when necessary. • Fixture Installation and Repair: Install, replace, and repair a wide variety of plumbing fixtures, including sinks, faucets, toilets, urinals, showers, bathtubs, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and water softeners, ensuring proper functionality and code compliance. • Water Heater Services: Diagnose, repair, and install various types of water heaters (tankless, gas, electric), including performing routine maintenance such as flushing and anode rod replacement. • Piping Systems: Install, repair, and replace water and gas piping systems using a variety of materials (copper, PEX, PVC, etc.), adhering to all applicable codes and best practices. This includes properly sizing, cutting, fitting, and joining pipes. • Drain Cleaning and Unclogging: Perform comprehensive drain cleaning services using professional-grade equipment, such as drain snakes and hydro-jetting equipment, to effectively remove blockages and restore proper drainage. • Sewer Line Services: Diagnose and address sewer line issues, which may include snaking, hydro-jetting, camera inspections, and, if necessary, coordinating repairs or replacements. • Gas Line Services: Safely install and repair gas lines for appliances, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and codes. (If applicable to your services). Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: • Employ advanced troubleshooting techniques to efficiently diagnose complex plumbing problems. • Utilize a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving, considering all potential causes and solutions. • Think critically and adapt to unexpected challenges in the field. Maintaining Tools and Equipment: • Maintain all company-provided tools and equipment in good working order. • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor immediately. • Ensure that company vehicles are kept clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts and supplies. Safety and Compliance: • Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and national plumbing and building codes. • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards on job sites. • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Documentation and Communication: • Accurately and legibly complete all required paperwork, including work orders, invoices, time sheets, and inspection reports. • Maintain clear and consistent communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members regarding job progress, scheduling, and any issues encountered. • Document any changes to the scope of work or additional repairs needed. • Utilize company provided mobile devices to access job details, communicate with dispatch, collect payments from customers and submit photos of work performed. Continuous Learning: • Stay informed about the latest advancements in plumbing technology, code changes, and industry best practices. • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities provided by the company. • Seek opportunities to expand your plumbing knowledge and skills. Qualifications: • License: Valid state plumbing license (Journeyman or Master Plumber preferred) or Multiple years experience as a Service Technician • Experience: 2 years of verifiable experience as a plumber, with a strong track record of successfully diagnosing and resolving plumbing issues. • Code Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local, state, and national plumbing codes and regulations. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various plumbing tools and equipment, including pipe wrenches, plungers, drain snakes, hydro-jetters, pipe cutters, soldering equipment, and diagnostic tools. • Troubleshooting: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify the root cause of plumbing problems. • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and supervisors. • Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to providing a positive experience for every client. • Driving Record: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry 100 lbs., work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
