Description Under the direction of Facility Services Director, repairs, installs and maintains the Hospital’s/Off-site Facilities plumbing system. Maintains and repairs Hospital boilers system. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school education preferred or equivalency training. Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in plumbing. Preferred three (3) to five (5) years boiler experience. Computer, Iphone, Ipad knowledge is desirable. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license. Hours: Full Time, 40hrs per week, (4 10hr. shifts)

Plumbing Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: (*Indicates non-essential function) • Ensures a comfortable environment by adjusting heating or air conditioners and keeping filters clean. Maintains boilers, chillers, air handlers and all other associated equipment. • Repairs broken, leaky or deteriorated lines and water heaters. Installs new lines as needed. • Maintains, replaces or unclogs broken, leaky or stopped drains. • Maintains ovens, conveyors, ice machines, garbage disposals, dish machines and all other associated equipment. • Cleans pool filtering equipment, resolving problems associated with plumbing, filters, pump or strainer. • Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems with refrigeration equipment used for air conditioning and kitchen equipment. • Maintains, replaces and performs preventative maintenance on circulatory pumps and plumbing associated with heated and chilled water. • Monitors equipment, identifying and resolving problems to ensure safety and energy efficiency. • Assumes on-call duties one week each month for after-hour emergencies, including some holidays. • Completes Job Ticket work. May complete requisitions as needed. Completes others duties as assigned by supervisor as a member of the maintenance team. Performance Standards: • Performs assigned responsibilities in an accurate, timely and effective manner with minimal supervision and meets established timelines for special assignments. • Exhibits requisite skills and knowledge and an appreciation for confidentiality. • Makes positive contributions to effective teamwork within the work unit and with other college departments. • Strives for excellence in performance of responsibilities and in meeting needs of clients/students served. • Knows and observes college and departmental policies, guidelines and procedures. Qualifications: • High School Diploma plus two years of related experience in plumbing and HVAC maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum requirement: Demonstrated ability to read technical specifications and work orders and to complete job tickets and requisitions. • Knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems and basic electrical knowledge. Knowledge of computerized control systems. CFC Certification preferred. • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other maintenance equipment. • Willingness to perform all types of basic repairs and projects, including snow removal and room setups, as a member of the maintenance team. • Ability to lift over 65 pounds and to climb and work on ladders, scaffolding and roofs, as well as crouch and crawl in enclosed spaces. • Ability to work safely and productively as a member of the maintenance staff.
