Plumbing Install Technician

Position Overview The Install Plumber is responsible for performing installations of equipment and drains for our residential customers. Key Responsibilities • Complete plumbing, drain cleaning, and other related in-home install calls. • Serve the clients of 1 Tom Plumber by expertly servicing customers’ entire plumbing systems. • Wear floor savers while in the client’s home and maintain a neat work area when performing a repair or scheduled service. • Always explain to the client what service you are performing. Explain and show the client how 1 Tom Plumber provides superior service. • Understand your sales criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals. • Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services. • Re-check all plumbing repairs and installations after completion to ensure everything is working properly and that we did indeed fix it right the first time. • Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans. • Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business. • Maintain your truck so that it is neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times. The truck is one of the best billboards that 1 Tom Plumber has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the “billboard” when possible. Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business. • Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback, and option sheets. • Obey the company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules. • Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck. • Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving. • Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, and retreats. • Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations. Pay is based on individual performance. Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent • 2+ years’ technical and trade experience • Current plumbing license • In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems • Understanding of the current regulations within the field • Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level • Able to work both independently and as part of a team • General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use • Plumbing troubleshooting and repair • Provide an acceptable driver’s abstract and maintain a valid driver’s license • Strong customer service skills Compensation is based on individual performance Physical Demands and Work Environment • Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment • Ability to lift 50 pounds • Ability to pick up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted • Operate handheld power tools • Wear personal protective equipment • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and up to 12 hours per day Desired Skills and Experience If you can achieve the above and you find it fun and challenging – you have just the right amount.
