Department/Unit: Facility Maintenance Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $47,921.64 - $71,882.46 Performs plumbing maintenance and installations on all Albany Med properties. To work individually and with others to maintain, repair, replace and add to all types of piping systems including water, drainage, steam, air and various type gas systems. Responsibilities: • Installs, repairs and maintains all water, air, steam, drainage and various type gas systems. • Installs all types of plumbing fixtures, including but not limited to, sinks, tubs, toilets, lavatories, tanks, kitchen equipment and laundry equipment. • Installs and maintains steam systems and including piping and controls. • Installs, alters and maintains steam and hot water heating systems. • Installs all types of pipe covering. • Repairs pumps, steam traps, valves. • Cleans, repairs and maintains sewer lines, grease traps and roof drains. • Maintains and repairs plumbing and pipe fitting tools and equipment. • All workmanship will meet New York State Plumbing Code. • Follows AMC policies and procedures and adheres to Center's safety rules, regulations and policies. • Will assist other trades as needed. • Performs all assigned tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner. • Responsible to conduct good housekeeping measures to promote safety. • Responsible to attend asbestos training annually and maintain an asbestos supervisor license. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required. • A minimum five years of training in all phases of plumbing and pipe fitting or two years of trade school and a minimum of three years in all phases of plumbing and pipe fitting. • Knowledge of steam systems is preferred. Should be familiar with all of the following phases of plumbing work: ~ Underground Plumbing - Installing drainage, venting, and water piping underground prior to floors being poured. Needs to be able to read and decipher blueprints to accurately plot coordinates for necessary plumbing under the slab. ~ In-wall rough plumbing - Required to have extensive knowledge of drainage, venting, and water piping principles to properly install plumbing throughout a building up to international plumbing code. Materials used are PVC, Copper, Pex, CPVC, Cast-Iron, Black Iron, etc. Familiarity with these materials is required. ~ Finish plumbing - Must have the ability to install and troubleshoot fixtures from toilets, sinks, faucets, water heaters, tubs and showers properly with knowledge of how to test them to ensure no leaks. Personal items like a hard hat, hand tools, and cordless saw and drill, and torch setup are required. Must be able to work between the times of 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri.
