Department/Unit: Facility Maintenance Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $47,921.64 - $71,882.46 Performs plumbing maintenance and installations on all Albany Med properties. To work individually and with others to maintain, repair, replace and add to all types of piping systems including water, drainage, steam, air and various type gas systems. Responsibilities: • Installs, repairs and maintains all water, air, steam, drainage and various type gas systems. • Installs all types of plumbing fixtures, including but not limited to, sinks, tubs, toilets, lavatories, tanks, kitchen equipment and laundry equipment. • Installs and maintains steam systems and including piping and controls. • Installs, alters and maintains steam and hot water heating systems. • Installs all types of pipe covering. • Repairs pumps, steam traps, valves. • Cleans, repairs and maintains sewer lines, grease traps and roof drains. • Maintains and repairs plumbing and pipe fitting tools and equipment. • All workmanship will meet New York State Plumbing Code. • Follows AMC policies and procedures and adheres to Center's safety rules, regulations and policies. • Will assist other trades as needed. • Performs all assigned tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner. • Responsible to conduct good housekeeping measures to promote safety. • Responsible to attend asbestos training annually and maintain an asbestos supervisor license. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required. • A minimum five years of training in all phases of plumbing and pipe fitting or two years of trade school and a minimum of three years in all phases of plumbing and pipe fitting. • Knowledge of steam systems is preferred. Respond to and diagnose and remedy plumbing emergencies. Perform routine inspections of plumbing & drainage systems and inform plumber of results. Perform light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as directed by a plumber. Keep accurate records of work time, description of work performed, and materials used. Assist with the preliminary and final inspections of all systems by participating in pressure tests, control adjustments and equipment operability. Helps to troubleshoot systems and interject corrective actions as needed to meet customer needs. Works with plumber to analyze factors that affect efficiency and effectiveness and ensures systems are operating according to specifications as well as OSHA and other regulatory bodies specifications. Performs inspections as required by plans or codes.
