ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Inspects, repairs, installs, and maintains irrigation systems, including electrical wiring, control boxes, valves, rotors, and standard sprinkler heads. 2. Troubleshoots and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems. 3. Researches, orders, and receives parts and materials from vendors, taking into consideration availability, cost, product value, warranty periods, and ease of installation. 4. Assists other trades with plumbing issues and problems. 5. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. 2. Four years of experience in the plumbing trade at the journeyman level. 3. Valid Florida driver’s license or the ability to obtain a Florida license within 30 days of employment, with acceptable driving record. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Florida State Journeyman Plumbing License. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of and ability to effectively use plumbing materials, power and manual tools, and other equipment customarily used in the trade. 2. Good judgment and decision-making skills regarding complex plumbing maintenance and repairs. 3. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 4. Excellent verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 5. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor. 6. Committed to working in a multicultural environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: 1. Works inside and outside environment, at College campuses and College-owned buildings, with exposure to various weather conditions. 2. Will be exposed to fumes, solvents, and combustible materials. 3. Will be required to wear protective gear. 4. Will be required to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. 5. Ability to stand and walk for considerable periods of time. 6. Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, unassisted. 7. Ability to climb and use ladders extensively. 8.
