Job Summary: The Pipefitter will lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, weld, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems. Pipefitter Duties and Responsibilities: • Layout, fit, assemble, and install various pipe systems • Inspect work for correct installation and best practices for specifications • Follow detailed work and plans of installation for job • Cuts pipe using saw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine • Threads pipe using threading machine • Bends pipe using pipe bending tools • Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including steel, copper, HDPE, and PVC • Connects pipes using threaded, welding, grooved, soldered, brazes, fused, and hand tools • Secures pipes to structure with brackets, anchors, pipe stands, clamps, and hangers • Determine the appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead Qualifications: • Ability to read and understand blueprints, documents, and submittals • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time • Ability to bend and twist • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry up to 60lbs • Ability to climb ladders We offer our employees a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package and are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
