The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pipefitting principles with experience in various welding techniques for both steel and aluminum material. A work history in a shipyard or heavy industrial manufacturing environments is highly preferred. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems for steel and aluminum vessels per design and build specifications while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Position Requirements and Essential Functions • Proven experience as a Pipefitter within a shipyard environment, manufacturing or other heavy industrial construction environment. • Proficiently read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications. • Experience using hand tools effectively in a production setting. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a shipyard environment (heavy industrial). • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. • Commitment to following and adhering to all safety standards and protocols without deviation. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job and include, but are not limited to: • Working on elevated scaffolding to heights of approximately 50 feet. • Climbing stairways to vessels up to approximately 50 feet up and working aboard vessels at this height. • Working on ladders of varying heights. • Carrying equipment and tools of varying weights up to approximately 70 lbs. • Use of various tools and equipment including, pipe benders, dies, welding machines, cutting torches, drills, drill presses, and grinders, etc. • Working in tight spaces with kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, crawling, and reaching overhead while utilizing tools. • Working in areas that include, but are not limited to: • Aboard non-climatized metal vessels in small or tight spaces • Inside non-climatized buildings and facilities • Outside areas open to environmental elements in the Florida climate which can include high and low temperatures, wind, and rain Responsibilities The following responsibilities are not exhaustive and if hired, the employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned. • Install complex piping systems including adjusting, joining pipes together and ensuring their proper installation per the specifications. • Ensure the system is functioning properly by performing tests for quality assurance. • Maintain and repair piping of previously installed systems. • Trouble shoot and identify piping system issues. • Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete tasks efficiently. • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following safety rules, policies, and procedures.
