What You’ll Be Doing: • Measure, cut, thread, and bend steel pipes with precision. • Tack weld pipes and fittings to hold placements before final welding. • Assemble, install, and secure pipes, valves, and fittings using welding, bolting, and mechanical methods. • Read blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams like a pro. • Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing to ensure pipe integrity. • Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and other heavy-duty materials . • Operate cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to move pipe into place. • Troubleshoot and repair piping systems, pumps, and valves. • Stay safe and compliant with OSHA and shipyard safety regulations. What We Need From You: • 2+ years of steel pipefitting experience (shipyard or heavy industrial preferred). • Experience with tack welding to secure pipe systems. • Strong skills in blueprint reading, measuring, cutting, threading, and fitting. • Ability to work with grinding, welding, and mechanical installation methods. • Willingness to put in the hours – 50+ per week with overtime! • Must pass a drug screen and background check. (Alignment of pumps, installing couplings, changing belts on rotating equipment, etc.) • Must Maintain SCBA certification • Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations. • Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 50 lbs. • Must be able to work on elevated platforms and maintain balance when stepping on narrow platforms such as beams and pipes. Must be able to perform these activities while wearing an approved full-body harness and lanyard. • Must Maintain SCBA certification. The Experience You Will Bring • Journeyman pipefitter or 5 years of experience as a pipefitter. • Pass a standard weld tests • Pass a written basic knowledge test of the trade. What Will Put You Ahead • Previous experience in a papermill plant construction environment • 3 years of experience as a Journeyman pipefitter • Previous experience being a leader for safety • Familiar with welding basics requirements.
