In this position you will be responsible for planning and installing all piping systems for our construction project/sites as assigned. You should have ample experience in welding, joining, and installing a variety of piping systems, as well as installing manual and electric safety valves.Job Duties: Configure pipe systems blueprint and plan piping systems layouts. Ensure all steam, water, chemicals, or other liquids are turned off before working on the piping system. Precisely cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel. Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from pipes as needed. Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment. Thread, weld, solder piping together. Consult with job site management for hole placements in walls and bulkheads. Ensure pipe sizes, hangers, supports, and joint needs for accurate flow. Cut and alter the piping to ensure the correct sizes. Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems. Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes.Skills/Qualifications: Three years' experience as a pipefitter or pipefitter apprenticeship preferred. High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeship required. Must meet all state license requirements. Accurate and precise attention to detail. Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations regarding piping systems OSHA 10Potential Hazards: Outside most of the time. Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels. Limited working surfaces Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights) Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following: If driving is required, a valid driver's license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.Essential Requirements: Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day Standing Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
