This position is located at the VA Western Colorado Health Care System in the Facilities Management Services. The primary purpose of the position is to perform the full range of duties of a journeyman-level pipefitter in the installation, modification, maintenance and repair of high and low pressure piping systems and associated equipment. See More Details >>Position Highlights: • Position: Plumber • Job Type: Full-Time Responsibilities: • Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs plumbing systems throughout the hospital and ancillary facilities including back flow repair and testing. Position installs valves, controls, gauges, and switches, installs plumbing systems that meets all applicable building codes, assist with refrigerate components, test and adjust gauges and controls for more efficient operations. • Performs general maintenance duties as assigned for the hospital and ancillary facilities. Completes work orders assigned. To include ordering materials and scheduling work. Including maintenance and repairs of pumps, and plumbing systems in all critical areas. Monitors fire control systems related to sprinkler systems. Repairs and maintains kitchen and cafeteria equipment. • Performs PM on all plumbing equipment while maintaining Joint Commission requirements by correcting equipment for compliance and completing Plan for Improvements (PFI) work orders. • Participates in construction activities. Responsible for the installation of all piping and plumbing equipment in renovation areas to include controls. Complies with infection control requirements during renovations and construction activity. • Cross trains to other trades. HVAC, light electrical, carpentry, and grounds Requirements: Two years of technical training or hospital experience required. OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman Plumber or higher License Compensation: • $32.00 – 36.80 per hour, depending on education and experience. • Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
