General Construction Laborer (EPC Construction)

Description Job Summary: The primary duties of the General Laborer are to safely assist crews with various types of construction projects. Projects range from performance contracting, energy efficiency retrofit, and backup/supplemental power distribution generator equipment emplacement. The General Laborer will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of his/her crew members along with the timely completion of each project they are assigned. Laborers need to have the ability to communicate with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills): • Minimum one year of experience as a general laborer or skilled trades apprentice. • Valid Driver’s License. • Ability to proficiently read, write, and communicate in English. • Must be willing and able to travel 75-85%+ as required (driving company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary). • Possess an in-depth knowledge of construction processes. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain safe and healthy work sites by following company standards and procedures while complying with legal requirements. • Properly use hand tools in a safe and efficient manner. • Proficiently learn all aspects of the installation process. • Must be punctual, organized, and professional. • Properly communicate with Senior Staff to ensure each project is installed correctly, safely, and in accordance with determined timelines. Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. • Travel required (75-85%+), must be willing and able to drive company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary. • Must be able to stand or walk for 3-4 hours at a time. • Must possess the manual dexterity to operate hand tools. Work environment may include, but are not limited to the following: Exposure to weather in varying climates, exposure to noise intensity levels, exposure to energized electrical equipment, exposure to overhead hazards (crane & rigging), and exposure to heavy machinery. Elite Construction is seeking GENERAL LABOR CONSTRUCTION CLEAN -UP to assist with our many commercial and local projects we have going on in our area. Previous construction experience is preferred but will train the right individual. Great opportunity for hardworking, dedicated and reliable applicants. This position requires the safe and efficient operation of various equipment including, but not limited to, loaders, backhoes, excavators, track hoes, loaders, and skid steers. Most days you will be working the yard/ physical labor. We are looking for someone who is a team player and quick with problem solving. Will be a lot of cleaning up construction sites but plenty equipment operating and plen of room to move up. Need someone who is willing to put in the time and willing to grow and move up in the company. Must have a driver's license and a car (no exceptions). Hard working and dependable need only apply!! Assists level workers by performing specific or general duties of a lesser skill of the trade. These duties may include but not limited to: · Makes safety the first priority and complies with all directives including OSHA, general contractors, company policies, and other state and local agencies. • Knowledge of common powered tools. • Skilled in working with a group of people to accomplish project deadlines and complex environments. • Ability to demonstrate a focus on safety and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hardhat, and other protective clothing. • Ability to negotiate ladders including climbing up/down and remain stationary while conducting work. • Ability to negotiate scaffolds and other elevated platforms from numerous levels of height. • Ability to manipulate hand tools and other equipment with which may require both hands. • Ability to stand continuously for a 12-hour shift and perform physically demanding activities to must exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects Ability to run lawn mower Works in a safe manner.
