Description Job Summary: The primary duties of the General Laborer are to safely assist crews with various types of construction projects. Projects range from performance contracting, energy efficiency retrofit, and backup/supplemental power distribution generator equipment emplacement. The General Laborer will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of his/her crew members along with the timely completion of each project they are assigned. Laborers need to have the ability to communicate with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills): • Minimum one year of experience as a general laborer or skilled trades apprentice. • Valid Driver’s License. • Ability to proficiently read, write, and communicate in English. • Must be willing and able to travel 75-85%+ as required (driving company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary). • Possess an in-depth knowledge of construction processes. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain safe and healthy work sites by following company standards and procedures while complying with legal requirements. • Properly use hand tools in a safe and efficient manner. • Proficiently learn all aspects of the installation process. • Must be punctual, organized, and professional. • Properly communicate with Senior Staff to ensure each project is installed correctly, safely, and in accordance with determined timelines. Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. • Travel required (75-85%+), must be willing and able to drive company vehicle and/or fly commercially if necessary. • Must be able to stand or walk for 3-4 hours at a time. • Must possess the manual dexterity to operate hand tools. Work environment may include, but are not limited to the following: Exposure to weather in varying climates, exposure to noise intensity levels, exposure to energized electrical equipment, exposure to overhead hazards (crane & rigging), and exposure to heavy machinery.
