Role and Responsibilities • Skilled bricklaying work to create and maintain structures, walls, chimneys, foundations etc using various types of blocks, tiles, boards, and stone. • Various tasks including pointing, internal block work, working with lime mortar, insert as required e.g. laying Flemish bond. • Undertaking checking/assessing when directed • Help to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety. • Carry out planned tasks in accordance with contract/agreed requirements and within agreed time limits. • Ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety. • Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work. Qualifications and Education Requirements • Basic reading, writing and math skills. • Basic use of hand tools (hammer, wrench, and tape measure). • Experience with powered tools such as drills, and saws. • The ability to multi-task, follow-through and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to interact with a diverse workforce effectively and professionally. • Ability to take initiative with minimal direction. • Excellent math skills with strong attention to detail and number accuracy. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. • Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain). Refractory Journeyman Bricklayer

• 1+ years of refractory work experience a plus • Experience in installation of refractory products: Brick, castables, • Welding, forming & pouring, demolition equipment operator, gunite equipment, refractory pump operation experience is advantageous • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours per day • Must be able to lift 50lb repetitively as needed • Must be able to go up and down on ladders, steps, and work from scaffolding • Must be able to perform various tasks in confined spaces and elevations. • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies • Knowledge of building forms for masonry work (arches, etc.) • Ability to adapt to multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality • Certification or training in masonry is preferred • Ability to collaborate with other construction professionals • Strong attention to detail • Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension.
