The Superintendent is responsible for supervising crews and overseeing the installation of underground utilities, small earthwork operations to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications. Responsibilities and Qualifications: · Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques used in utility construction and earthwork · Strong understanding of field safety practices; enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards · Ability to interpret and work from project documents, including construction plans, specifications, submittals, and material/safety data sheets · Maintain organized records and prepare accurate work and time reports · Communicate effectively with team members, and management · Ability to follow instructions and adapt to project requirements efficiently · Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, including resource allocation and scheduling · Work collaboratively with management to resolve project issues as they arise · Coordinate work across multiple trades, departments, and contractors · Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction; conduct regular inspections and create comprehensive worklists · Plan and supervise crews, including determining construction methods, labor needs, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, and documenting work hours · Liaise with clients, engineers, and project managers to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules · Assist in solving construction-related issues, such as productivity delays or sequencing conflicts · Perform physical tasks as required, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working outdoors in all weather conditions · Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening. · Required Skills/Abilities/Experience: • Travel to and from job sites • Good communication and interpersonal skills which assist with working closely with co-workers • Ability to listen to, understand and follow directions so safety is maintained. • 5+ years of successful utility construction experience • In depth knowledge of utility and small earthwork construction projects including scheduling, manpower, • Experience in managing City/Municipal/Residential utility projects • Documentation of construction safety training • Experience with daily operations • Ability to use minimal computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook.
