Description Vincennes University is seeking applicants for an Adjunct Faculty position in Precision Machining Technology. This is a part-time position located in Vincennes, IN to teach degree required courses in the discipline of Precision Machining Technology. Duties and Responsibilities • Ability to teach courses in the Precision Machining Program. • Strong understanding of Mastercam CAD/CAM Software • Strong understanding of Industrial Blueprints, Orthographic Drawings, and GD&T • Strong background in manual machining using lathes, mills, and surface grinders. • Prepare materials for courses taught. • Identify issues with and perform minor repairs to laboratory equipment. • Able to work daytime and/or evenings as needed. • Monitor student progress and maintain student progress reports. • Record and input student grades • Other duties as opportunities arise. Required and Preferred Qualifications EDUCATION: Minimum of an A.S. degree in Precision Machining or a minimum of 5 years documented machining work experience. Manual machining experience required. Direct working experience in the following areas: • Manual & CNC Milling • Manual & CNC Turning • Surface Grinding • Blueprint reading and precision measurement • Mold and Die operations • Heat treating • Vertical and horizontal bandsaw operations Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities REASONING SKILLS: Strong problem-solving skills. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Excellent oral & written communication skills with a friendly, outgoing, respectful attitude. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 50 pounds from the floor and ability to stand for two hours without a break.
